This 2018 report, lead by the Center for First-generation Student Succes, details how institutions are serving first-generation students, the challenges they encounter in providing support, and how first-generation students perceive their institutional experience.

Bewilderment about how to navigate the college experience hits first-generation students harder than it does others. Such students face significant financial, cultural, and educational barriers. Yet they enroll in college in significant numbers, with about a quarter of new freshmen reporting that their parents had no postsecondary education.
