Dental Faculty and Instructors: Problem-Based Learning

This guide provides dental faculty at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC with information about library resources and services for teaching and curricular support.

Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Resources & Support

The Wilson Dental Library provide the following problem-based learning resources and support for dental faculty and students.  

  • A curated list of recommended textbooks for PBL.
  • Research guides for most first year cases that include recommended textbooks and resources for each case.
  • A PBL learning needs checklist outlining a step-by-step process for identifying and using library resources for PBL.
  • Librarian consultations with students on finding appropriate and relevant information for learning needs.

Students can access all PBL resources on the PBL Students: Library Resources page on the Wilson Dental Library website.

PBL facilitators can contact dental librarian Jennifer Silverman at jas84961@usc.edu with recommendations for additional textbooks to be added to the list of recommended textbooks and research guides for PBL.
