Dental Faculty and Instructors

Library Privileges: 

• Remote access to USC Libraries' electronic databases, electronic journals, electronic books, and other research websites is for the exclusive use of current USC students, faculty (including part-time), staff, post-docs, and official visiting scholars registered with a home department. 
• Retired USC faculty who are Gold Card holders are entitled to in person library privileges only.
• Membership in the Emeriti Center does not include remote electronic access to subscription resources.
• Remote access is available only to those retired faculty with the Professor Emeritus designation.

Public Access Computer at the Wilson Dental Library:

• One public access computer station is available at the Wilson Dental Library for the use of retired Ostrow faculty, Ostrow alumni, and USC dental patients.
• This computer does not require a USC NET ID login.

About volunteer faculty status: 

• Upon joining the university, USC faculty, staff, and students are issued a USC Net ID which allows them to login to USC online platforms including Workday, Brightspace, library online resources, and more. However, because of their volunteer status, the university does not automatically assign volunteer faculty a 10-digit USC Net ID. 
• The sponsoring department must work with USC ITS to provide the volunteer faculty with an iVip account/temporary USC Net ID. 

How do Ostrow volunteer faculty get access to online library resources?

• Volunteer faculty at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC can work with Lizette Chavez, Faculty Service Specialist, to get a USC Net ID, which will allow you to login to online library resources from anywhere.
