Bioinformatics Software: Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA)

USC IPA Access Policy

The Norris Medical Library has licensed the Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) for the free use of USC faculty, students and staff. This license currently consists of three concurrent user seats.  All users must comply with the following procedures and rules to ensure proper and fair access to this software:

  1. To be eligible, you must be a USC faculty, student, staff or affiliated researcher, and you must have an email account that ends with usc.edu.
  2. Complete and submit the IPA registration form.
  3. Log off after each use.
  4. A forced log out following 15-min of inactivity is implemented with an advanced 3-min warning.
  5. If you exceed any session duration limits, your session will be subjected to forced termination at our discretion without any advanced notice.  USC Libraries Bioinformatics Service is not, nor Ingenuity Systems, responsible for any loss of analysis result due to a forced logout.
  6. Do not exceed the maximum limit of session duration as defined below.

Monday - Friday
Saturday - Sunday (holidays)
8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Up to 3 hour/session, no consecutive sessions
Up to 6 hours total during the period
Up to 6 hour/session
Up to 12 hours during the period
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Up to 5 hour/session
Up to 10 hour total during the period
Up to 6 hour/session
Up to 12 hours during the period
  • Any session that exceeds the duration limit will be subjected to a forced termination without advanced notice.
  • A first violation of the maximum access time limit (either per session or per time period) will result in an email warning.    
  • Three such violations will result in suspension or permanent loss of full access to IPA of the violator.
