MEDLINE search tips
When searching on any specialty, it is advisable to search not only the specialty or area of knowledge (in this case Pediatric Dentistry, Pedodontics or Dental Care for Children) but also search under a disease state such as Dental Caries and the anatomical structure Tooth, Deciduous. All of these are MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terms that you can combine using AND/OR in MEDLINE. Keep in mind that you can also "explode" these terms to include more specific terms. In the case of Dental Caries the term 'explodes' to include more specific terms such as Dental Fissures and Root Caries.
If you encounter difficulties when conducting a literature
search please do not hesitate to contact the Wilson Dental Library
