Online resources (e-books, journals, and databases)
Because you can access USC online resources from anywhere, you will be able to find the information you need, when you need it. Always use the Wilson Dental Library's website to link out to resources and you will be prompted to login with your USC credentials.
Consultations & Literature searching
A librarian is available to assist you with a variety of requests: locating a book or journal article, developing a search strategy, or learning how to use a database. Consultations can be provided over the phone, email, or video conference.
Interlibrary loan (DocRetriever)
If the USC libraries do not own or subscribe to a resource or content you are looking for, we will obtain a copy of the resource from another library free of charge. Follow the steps below to activate your account.
Hard copies of books are available to you through Interlibrary Loan (DocRetriever) as well! Books are typically delivered within one week of request and you are only responsible for the cost of return shipping.
To login to library resources, you will need to provide your USC NetID and password. This is the same ID and password you use for your USC email account.
NetID: Your NetID is the first part of your email address: NetID@usc.edu ( e.g., email address: email@example.com, NetID: jose_342). Memorize your NetID, you will need it frequently.
If this is your very first time logging in, you will ned to activate your account (circled above, left).
If you have forgotten your NetID or Password click on the appropriate link to initiate assistance (circled above, right).

Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan services are freely available for Distance Learners. Fees are only charged for rush orders and the return shipping of borrowed books.
To submit interlibrary loan requests for resources or articles not owned by or subscribed to by USC or to request a book or article from the library's collection you will first need to create a DocRetriever account. DocRetriever is our system for processing these requests and it is free for you to register and use.
To register for an account, visit the Wilson Dental Library's Homepage and click on the DocRetriever link.
If you are a first time user, click on the Register button.
After you have created an account you can logon to the request system on this page, or when you encounter a page in our Health Sciences Library Catalog that states we do not have access to an item or article (example below).
Article Delivery Timeframe
Articles are typically delivered electronically within 2-3 business days.
If you need your request processed more quickly you can mark the request "Rush" and pay a $5 processing fee.
Book Delivery Timeframe
Books from the library's collection will be delivered about one week after the request is submitted. You will be responsible for the return shipping cost.
