Bioinformatics Software: Partek Genomics Suite (PGS)

Main Applications

Partek Genomic Suite (PGS) is a software package for statistical analysis and visualization of both microarray and aligned Next-generation sequencing data.

Microarray Data Analysis: complete workflow from raw data to significant gene list (accept all major platforms)

  • Gene and exon expression
  • Regulation data (ChIP-chip, methylation, promoter tiling arrays)
  • microRNA expression
  • SNP and copy number analysis
  • Genome-wide association analysis

Visualization

  • Heatmap
  • PCA plots
  • Hierarchical and partitioning clustering
  • Survival curves
  • Time-series profile trellis

Why use PGS?

PGS is one of the most widely-used and high-performance tools for genomic data analysis

  • Capable of analyzing all major microarray data types
  • Easy to follow user friendly workflows
  • Powerful statistics and interactive visualization
  • Quick identification of significantly altered genes

Access PGS @ USC

USC has licensed PGS for the free use of USC faculty, students and staff. The license consists of TWO concurrent user seats.  There are two ways you can access PGS:

  1. On your own computer
  • The computer must be connected to the USC network, either via Ethernet cable on campus or via USC VPN when using wireless (applies to both on- and off-campus wireless connections).
  1. On our workstation computers
The pre-installed software is available at the following locations:
  • Norris Medical Library (RM203A), the Health Sciences Campus.
  • Wilson Dental Library,  the University Park Campus.

To request your free access of PGS:

  1. Carefully read the PGS user policy
  2. Fill out and submit the PGS registration form
