What is a market or industry report?

There are many ways to gain information about markets, industries, and companies. Academic and trade journals can provide research results and opinions from key thought leaders about trends in a market or industry. Use the Database tab to find databases including these publications. Data is collected by a variety of organizations and governments, and statistical information is generated and published in reports. Find these materials on the Data & Statistics tab.

There are a significant number of companies, federal and state agencies, and other organizations who gather a large amount of information about a market or industry. They use academic and trade journals, data and statistics, and other types of publications like legal and financial filings, patents, and reports generated for investors. These materials are critically analyzed and used to create reports that provide insight into the present state or forecast the future of markets, industries, and companies. The libraries subscribe to many databases that include these types of reports. The ones listed here include more reports about health, drugs, healthcare, and related fields.
