Get full-text articles

The USC Libraries licenses many electronic articles from research journals and newspapers, and make them available to all USC students, staff, and faculty. We have several methods to get you to full-text articles from any computer in the world. Two popular methods are shared here; contact the libraries for more help.

These methods do not always work to find book chapters, trade journals, pipeline reports, market reports, statistical reporting, or other kinds of publications used in pharmaceutical and health economics, even though the library does license many of these types of publications for you to view. Explore other tabs on this guide (Databases, Markets & Industries, Data & Statistics) for databases where you can find these types of publications, or contact the libraries for more help.

I have a citation and need to find the full text quickly.

I'm looking at the article I want to read on the journal site, but need to log in. How do I do this?

In order to ensure you don't have to remember hundreds of individual passwords, the USC Libraries do not participate in login schemes on individual journal websites. For the most accurate access to all licensed articles, using the Everything search is preferred. You can also download and install a browser extension called LibKey Nomad to get access to licensed articles from journal websites.

The article I want doesn't seem to be available. What do I do?

You can always contact the libraries' reference service to determine if an article is licensed by the Libraries. If we do not license the article you need, the Interlibrary Loan service is free to all USC students, staff, and faculty. Once you log in and make a request, staff will find a library with the article and obtain a copy on your behalf. You will be notified when the article is available for download (typically 3-5 days).

I need to search for new articles. How do I do this?

The Libraries license many databases that include citations to articles or the full-text of articles. Review the Databases tab for more help.
