Ebooks at USC Libraries

Ebooks available at USC Libraries can be found by searching:

  1. The library catalog
  2. Specific databases (e.g., Access Medicine, Clinical Key) that allow you to search across multiple ebooks at once

About ebooks at USC Libraries:

  • USC Libraries purchases ebooks rather than print /physical books whenever possible.
  • Due to publisher restrictions, some library ebooks have limited simultaneous access, usually 1-3 people at a time. For these ebooks, you will have to wait until the ebook becomes available to access it.
  • Depending on publisher restrictions, some ebooks allow downloads for the entire book or a specific number of pages or chapters. Some cannot be downloaded in any capacity and can only be read online in your web browser.
  • Not all publishers provide subscriptions to academic libraries. Even when an ebook is available for individuals to purchase or rent, the library may not be able to purchase it.
  • Some publishers only provide academic library subscriptions to previous editions.

If you find an article or book not available through USC Libraries, request the item through Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery.
