The USC Libraries' Developing Keywords tutorial can help you practice using effective search terms so a database can find what you seek. Additionally, many databases index their records (e.g. PsycINFO and PubMed/MEDLINE). In these cases, it is important to add to your search strategies those subject terms that are related to your key words. These can be found in a Subject Index or Thesaurus. The Library of Congress classifications for industrial and organizational psychology are HD and HF, specifically:

• HD58.7-58.95  Organizational behavior, change and effectiveness; Corporate culture (Search using: HD58.7* OR HD58.8* OR HD58.9*)

• To locate specific online journals online, go to USC Journals and type in the name or subject of your journal(s)
• To locate journals in print and on campus also start at the USC Libraries homepage
  • Select USC Libraries Catalog from the drop-down menu
  • Search for your journal
  • Use the filters on the left side of the results to limit to Journals.

To search for individual articles, use the USC Libraries search box.

Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research.

Recommended: Always access Google Scholar from the USC Libraries pages. The Find it @ USC should take you to directly the USC databases whether or not you sign in, but doesn't always. If you don't see Find it @ USC, go to Settings, Library Links, search for the University of Southern California, and click the check box, then Save.
