The Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee of the Health Sciences Campus at the University of Southern California was created to enhance collaboration between HSC schools.
On the IPE Committee pages you will find minutes from the quarterly meetings and a workspace in which committee members may suggest ideas, post information about upcoming events related to IPE of which they are aware, collaborate online, etc.
The Norris Medical Library’s Interprofessional Education Committee is dedicated to creating an environment across the health professions that connects disciplines, promotes teamwork, fosters mutual understanding, strengthens research, and advances Inter-Professional Education (IPE) [1] opportunities for health sciences students.
The Norris Medical Library will facilitate communication between committee members, support their information needs surrounding IPE, and maintain a centralized IPE webpage.
[1] IPE is defined as formal, planned "occasions when two or more professions learn with, from and about each other to improve collaboration and the quality of care" (Barr, 2005). The definition of IPE, at USC Health Sciences, includes collaboration between two or more academic units and/or disciplines. The ultimate goals of IPE are to increase collaboration between disciplines (professions), promote health and better systems of care, and prepare students for high demand careers that require effective team work.
Listed below are the upcoming Health Sciences IPE Committee meeting dates. If you are interested in joining the IPE Committee, please contact Karin Saric at ksaric@usc.edu
The IPE Committee has compiled internal documents (created by committee members) such as grant proposals, conference abstracts, instruction outlines, and more. IPE Committee members wanting access to this folder of documents should send their Gmail addresses to Karin Saric at ksaric@usc.edu.
