Earth Sciences *: Collections

This is the primary Earth Sciences guide to support teaching and research for the Earth Sciences through the doctoral level and beyond.

Collections overview

The principal Earth Sciences collections are located in the Science & Engineering Library. Search for books in the USC library online catalog.

New books are shelved separately in the Science & Engineering Library on the first floor to the right of the stairwell.  These books may be checked out.

Earth Sciences Journals can be searched in the USC library online catalog, especially for print journals.  Search for electronic journals by title from the e-Journals tab on the USC Libraries page.

Related Collections

Additional materials, including most of the former Hancock Library of Biology & Oceanography collection books are available in the Grand Avenue Library

Materials related to the History of Earth Sciences are located in the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library.

Philosophy of Earth Sciences materials are housed in the Hoose Library of Philosophy.

Older and less frequently used materials, including paper journals for which USC provides electronic access, as well as USC theses and dissertations, are located in the Grand Avenue Library.  These items can be requested in the USC library online catalog by clicking on the call number for the item.

Print journals indicated in the USC library online catalog as being in the Hancock Library of Biology & Oceanography can be paged or by requesting through Interlibrary Loan.
