Review Articles (Health Sciences)

Identifies the difference between a systematic review and a literature review. Connects to tools for research, writing, and publishing.

Finding reviews in article databases

Most library-licensed, subject-specific article databases include a limit or filter for "reviews" visible on the search results screen. This will limit your results to articles that journals consider reviews. These might be systematic reviews, literature reviews, or other types of reviews. Examine each article carefully to determine the processes used by the authors and determine which type of review you are using.

The databases below each include a review filter. Examine a research guide for your subject area to find additional subject-specific databases.

Specialized Review Databases

These databases only include specific kinds of review articles.
