The Event

The V&V event web site describes this event as follows:

Beauty, spirit, hope and passion know no bounds! Join the celebration as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater,  America’s cultural ambassador to the world, brings African American cultural expression and the American moderndance  tradition to the stage. The Miami Herald wrote that the company’s new artistic director, Robert Battle, “represents a new generation, not just at Ailey, but in modern dance.” The dancers of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater are electrifying—“the most gorgeous dancing you ever did see” (New York magazine).
