Resources and activities for USC Libraries Orientation

Laptops

You can check out a Windows laptop from Leavey Library's Circulation Desk.  These laptops have web browsers, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. They may be checked out for 24 hours with no renewal.

USC ITS-Learning Environments also provides Mac laptops for students to be borrowed for short-term (4 hour) rental from the Ahmanson Information Commons located at Leavey Library (Basement Level). Email spaces@usc.edu for questions about Mac short-term rentals. For more information, consult the ITS Computing Center Laptop Loaner Program page.

Computer Terminals

USC Libraries Computer Terminals

Computer terminals are available at select libraries. Computer access requires a USC computer account. USC students, staff, and faculty should use the same login information they use for their USC email accounts. Public computers in all Doheny Library are for research use only and are not intended for extended personal use. 

USC Computing Centers

ITS supports various computing centers on campus:

KING OLYMPIC HALL (KOH) computer lab
8 am – 10:30 pm

WAITE PHILLIPS HALL (WPH) computer lab
8 am – 10:30 pm

LEAVEY LIBRARY (LVL) (no lab)
Mondays – Thursdays, 9 am – 11 pm
Saturdays 9 am – 5 pm
Sundays 9 am – 8 pm

All ITS-managed computing centers feature:

  • Comfortable and reconfigurable furnishings
  • Collaborative study spaces, available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Wireless printing capabilities
  • Borrowable computing accessories (including video/audio adapters and computer mice)
  • A laptop loaner program (available to enrolled students only)
