Psychology Research Resources

Listed below are databases that access research literature in psychology and resources for finding and critically evaluating psychological tests and measurements. Additional information about tests and measurements can be found HERE.

TESTS AND MEASUREMENTS

  • PsycTESTS -- provides access to psychological tests, measures, scales, surveys, and other assessments as well as descriptive information about the test and its development and administration.
  • Psychological Experiments Online -- a multimedia collection that synthesizes the most important psychological experiments of the 20th and 21st centuries. The experiments have broad impacts on fields as diverse as sociology, business, advertising, economics, political science, law, ethics, and the arts.
  • Health and Psychosocial Instruments -- database for locating measurement instruments such as surveys, questionnaires, tests, surveys, coding schemes, checklists, rating scales, and vignettes. Scope includes medicine, nursing, public health, psychology, social work, communication, and sociology.
  • Mental Measurements Yearbook -- use this database to find reviews of testing instruments, providing evidence of their validity and reliability. The actual test instruments are not provided but most can be searched online or found above in the PsycTESTS database. Note that if there is not a review of the test you are looking for, search for the name of the test in Google Scholar or in PsycINFO to find the article where the test was originally published. That article will provide information about how the test was developed and administered.
