Zotero

Zotero can help you keep track of your research, organize citations, and create bibliographies

Welcome

This guide is designed to help you get started with the citation management program Zotero. Citation management software helps you keep track of your research, organize citations, and create bibliographies.

Getting Started with Zotero

Here is a tutorial on getting started with Zotero. You can also click on the button on the left of the page called "Zotero Tutorial."

Here is a YouTube playlist with the same videos in the tutorial above. Use the |< and >| buttons to jump between videos.

Full-Text Access

Zotero Connector can help you save time by using proxy settings to redirect you to full-text access through USC Libraries.

Update your connector preferences and proxy settings to allow Zotero to detect when you are using an institutional proxy to access a particular site.

Configure OpenURL resolver

You can specify an OpenURL resolver in the Advanced tab of your Zotero preferences to locate the full-text of an item saved to your library using "Library Lookup."

USC's OpenURL is: https://libkey.io/libraries/149/openurl

On the Zotero desktop app, select "Edit" and "Preferences." Paste USC's link resolver (https://libkey.io/libraries/149/openurl) and select "OK."
