This assignment will allow students to develop and demonstrate a foundational understanding of a development challenge, research using academic sources, evaluate theoretical arguments and policy recommendations, marshal empirical evidence to support one’s perspective, consider alternative perspectives, and critically evaluate information.data used to support positions. Students will demonstrate this both orally through the in-class debate and in writing through the persuasive paper and the data analysis paper.
