Introduction

This guide includes examples of the types of citations you will need in writing research papers. They are taken from The MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 7th edition, published by the Modern Language Association of America, New York, 2009. The handbook can be found in the Leavey Library Information Commons (behind the reference desk) and in the Doheny Reference Room (also behind the reference desk). In addition, you may purchase MLA Handbook 7th edition in the University Bookstore.

The Call number is LB2369.G53 2009

Attention!: The 7th edition of the MLA Handbook contains important new guidelines on citing print and online materials.
