Perpetual Access (PA): How Do I Request PA Information for a Title?

This guide provides information on what Perpetual Access is, and how it is being utilized at USC Libraries for Collection Management.

Single Title

  1. Search for the title in Alma.
    • Filter Material Type to Journals
  2. Look for the bibliographic holding for the Electronic holding(s).
    • Please note: If there are no electronic bibliographic holdings, there is currently no online accessibility. KEEP THE PHYSICAL ITEMS!
  3. Open the Portfolio List to view the full list of electronic collections. This list can be accessed from two locations.
  4. The Portfolio List for the title will note the Collection Name of each electronic collection and each collection’s availability date range.
    • Please note: the vendor name may or may not be included in the collection name.
  5. Compose an email to the Electronic Resource Specialist and include the following information:
    1. Indicate you are interested in learning about the perpetual access of the title(s).
    2. Title name(s).
    3. List of corresponding electronic collections names to the title(s).
  6. Await response from Electronic Resource Specialist.
