FactSet Accounts

Requesting a Factset ID / Account

To get an account, go to https://advantage.factset.com/academic_idrequest   You will be asked for the following information.  Please allow 24-72 hours for them to reply.

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • University e-mail address.
  • Please indicate that you are a faculty member; students will have to provide a date of graduation for an expiration date

Factset will get back to you with instructions on how to access the Web product and/or how to download the software.  The software version has a plug-in that you can request. The instructions will also include some information Factset.  The e-mail with your ID and Password will come from factset.net.admin; be sure to check your clutter or spam file for this e-mail

Please note the turnaround time is 24-72 hours

 

FactSet Certification

Students can become Factset Certified by completed the modules below.

  • Factset Core: A wide-ranging certification about workstation navigation and monitoring the market across multiple asset classes. Roughly 4 hour time commitment and this exam must be taken before proceeding to the following applications certifications
  • Productivity Suite: Building Excel models and PPT presentations using Factset codes and tools. Roughly 90 minutes
  • Portfolio Analysis: Challenges students on how to use an attribution model to explain portfolio performance across a variety of PA reports. Roughly 90 minutes
  • Universal Screening: Take an investment strategy and learn how to find an investable universe by applying quantitative and qualitative filters

After completion, a verifiable badge and signed certificate are available for students to include on their resumes and LinkedIn profiles
