ICPSR is a large social science archive and a leader in the area of research data management and teaching with data. Here you can find data files on a wide range of topics, from elections to education to health. It is a membership organization, but some data files are freely accessible. You can also use their interface to search for studies.
The Archive has an extensive collection of U.S. Census data, including one of the most comprehensive holdings for 1970 Census files. It also contains data from the North Carolina State Data Center, National Center for Health Statistics and Harris Polls. Almost all of the data holdings are available online in the Odum Dataverse.
Developed at Harvard University by the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS), the Dataverse Network Project is an open-source web application for creating online “dataverses” or data archives. Use to browse other archives or create your own.
