Fostering an inclusive learning environment is a process and all of us have an opportunity to contribute to it. Based on our shared commitment we can model behavior that is inclusive, share & model diverse voices & viewpoints. Taking that commitment to the classrooms we can integrate it within our program, courses and pedagogy. DEIA + AR education is a process and these recommendations are a starting point, with future iterations to evolve with new knowledge, generational shifts and political climates.Along with the DEIA+AR recommendations, the ALA : Cultural Proficiences for Racial Equity, provide a guidelines that will help model inclusive behavior.
These recommendations are offered a-la-carte allowing instructors to implement them as they feel appropriate for their learning environment.
