The International Olympic Committee Executive Board has approved LA28's venue plans, expanding the 2028 Summer Olympics footprint across Greater Southern California.
Highlights
- Los Angeles will make history as the third city to host the Summer Olympics three times
- Opening and closing ceremonies will occur simultaneously at SoFi Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

- Dodger Stadium: Baseball
- Peacock Theater: Boxing preliminaries
- Crypto.com Arena: Boxing finals
- USC Sports Center: Rhythmic gymnastics and badminton
- Venice Beach: Triathlon start/finish and marathon/road cycling starting points
San Fernando Valley
- Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area: 3x3 basketball, modern pentathlon, BMX freestyle, BMX racing, and skateboarding (park and street)
- Universal Studios Lot: Olympic debut of squash
Long Beach
- Alamitos Beach: Beach volleyball (relocated from Santa Monica after negotiations)
- Long Beach Convention Center: Target shooting and sport climbing
- Long Beach Waterfront: Coastal rowing
Other Southern California Locations
- Carson's Dignity Health Sports Park: Archery and field hockey
- Pomona Fairplex: Cricket in a temporary, purpose-built venue
- Santa Anita Park (Arcadia): Equestrian events
- South El Monte Shotgun Center: Shotgun shooting
- Trestles Beach (San Clemente): Surfing, selected for "most consistent waves" in Southern California
- Honda Center (Anaheim): Volleyball
