Learning Support: Proofreading

Resources for students in the Suzanne Dworak Peck School School of Social Work's MSW, MSN, and DSW programs.

Proofreading is the vital last step before turning in your paper. Look for grammar and style issues you may have missed during revision, any places to simplify, and any last-minute APA formatting issues. Read your paper aloud to yourself or to another person twice- once from top to bottom, and then a second time from bottom to top starting with the last line and working your way up. Reading aloud can help you find and correct errors your brain might fix if you read silently.
