Wellness, or attention to all aspects of an individual's health (physical, mental, spiritual, etc.) is an important topic in the United States today.  Wellness is also an important concept at USC:

The USC Libraries include a wide array of print and electronic resources that cover wellness issues from various perspectives and to various depths. The purpose of this guide is to help students, faculty and staff better navigate USC library resources, and to a lesser degree information resources beyond the University, to find the most appropriate wellness information for your needs.

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language (Fourth Edition, 2000) defines “wellness” as: “The condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise, and habits.”

USC’s Center for Work Family Life defines wellness as: “living a healthy, balanced lifestyle that incorporates positive attitudes and productive behaviors related to the physical, emotional, psychological, family, social, spiritual and occupational spheres of your life.”
