Two of USC's most distinguished faculty members delve into the significance of Wagner's Ring Cycle in the 20th-century history, philosophy, culture and even movies. As the LA Opera prepares to mount the first-ever production of the Ring Cycle in Los Angeles, hear why this production is attracting attention world-wide and controversy locally.

In their discussion Professor Kincaid will give highlights from his Masters of Liberal Studies course and Professor Cazan will share insights as a leading opera stage director. From the power of the unconscious, to the rise of anarchism, to the cult of the hero - join in the discussion and learn why LA's upcoming Ring Cycle production matters. This event will also include a pre-reception.
