Finding Community Demographics

Use official state, county and city web sites for information about your community, like government structure and elected officials.

  • Using a search engine (Google or Bing), type your state or city and the keyword government. For example, Los Angeles government. This will bring up the official website/local government website on top of the results list.

The U.S. Census Bureau will also have local information. You can access data from the U.S. Census by using American FactFinder. A short video walking through using American FactFinder is located aboveAttached, you can find a short guide on finding community data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
