Finding Community Demographics

Finding Community and Neighborhood Data

Use official state, county and city web sites for information about your community, like government structure and elected officials. Go to a search engine (like Google or Bing) and type in your state or city and the word government. For example, Los Angeles government. This will bring up the official website on top of the results list.

The U.S. Census Bureau will also have local information. You can access data from the U.S. Census by using American FactFinder

Attached, you can find a short guide on finding community data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
