*Marriage and Family Therapy: Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan

This guide is meant to give an overview of materials and resources available at USC Libraries for researchers in Rossier's Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program.

What is interlibrary loan and document delivery?

Interlibrary Loan

  • Allows you to borrow books, dissertations, government documents, and other loanable materials that are not owned by USC.
  • Materials are obtained from another library.
  • Service available to USC faculty, students and staff.
  • All physical materials can be picked up at the Leavey Library.

Document Delivery

  • Provides copies of articles and book chapters from USC-owned journals, books, and other materials
  • Materials are scanned and provided to you as a PDF document.
  • A link to the electronic document will be sent via e-mail.

Distance students can request USC-owned library books to be sent to their home address.

How do I request materials?

  1. Go to the ILLIAD system
  2. Log in with your USC ID and password.
    • For first-time users, please fill out the profile.
    • For distance/online students, select Distance User under Status.
  3. Select the type of item you want to request on the menu on the left, under New Requests.
  4. Enter the citation information for the item.
  5. Select Submit Request.

For questions about the service or the status of your request, contact the Integrated Document Delivery department (IDD): 213-740-4020 or idd@usc.edu.

When will I get my request?

Articles (USC & non-USC owned): 24-48 hours
Books (USC owned): 3-5 days
Books (non-USC owned): 5-10 days

More time may be required if the item is from a journal or periodical that is rare or difficult to obtain.

Delivery of books or other physical items require a longer period, which depends on the nature of the item (publication date, subject matter, rarity) and its availability through local, national, and international sources.
