Finding Aid: Robin Dunitz California and Los Angeles Murals Files: The Los Angeles and California Murals Files

Description

The Los Angeles and California Murals Files at the University of Southern California were donated by Robin Dunitz in July 2002, with subsequent, smaller donations, in 2006 and 2008. Robin Dunitz is the author of the following books:

·      with James Prigoff, Painting the towns: murals of California. Los Angeles: RJD Enterprises, 1997;

·      Street gallery: guide to 1000 Los Angeles murals, 2nd edition. Los Angeles, CA: RJD Enterprises, 1998;

·      with James Prigoff, Walls of heritage, walls of pride: African American murals. San Francisco: Pomegranate, 2000.

The files contain a miscellany of information including, but not limited to: artist interviews; artists' statements; correspondence; exhibition announcements; newsletters; newspaper and magazine articles; pamphlets; photographs; postcards; artist resumes; video and audiotapes.

The files represent Ms. Dunitz' personal collection of materials collected over the years of her involvement in documenting and preserving Los Angeles murals. This collection is available for viewing in the Helen Topping Architecture and Fine Arts Library at the University of Southern California, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. We do not provide reproduction services and do not have scanning facilities for our archival collections. The collections must be viewed on site.
