How to Find Articles

To locate articles on topics related to architectural history, use one of the following journal indexes and databases.  Many articles will include illustrations and floor plans.

Art and Architecture Archive

A full-text archive of magazines comprising key research material in the fields of art and architecture, dating from the late-nineteenth century to the twenty-first.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals-

This is a good source for articles on contemporary architecture, going back to the architecture of the late 19th century.

JSTOR

This expanding journals collection includes journal articles in architectural history.

Proquest

Proquest news and historic newspapers sub-databases will have articles on architects and buildings.  However, they rarely include drawings of floor plans or comprehensive illustrations.
