Content Tutor

Description

The USC Learning Support team is looking for students with excellent writing skills who would like to work one one one to help others understand difficult concepts and theories.

The student content tutor position is paid and tutors determine their own schedules.  We request that the content tutor be available at least 6 hours per week, but which 6 hours are up to the tutor!  Students may work up to 20 hours per week. The student content tutors' studies always come first, so if they need to work fewer hours some weeks, they can. We provide 6 hours of paid training plus time to shadow experienced content tutors.

Content tutors work individually in appointments and collaboratively to create resources for MSW students.  We have an extremely supportive group and questions and contributions are greatly encouraged! 

Requirements

  • A 3.8 or higher GPA
  • Completion of all foundation (500-level) coursework

Group Discussion Leader

Description

The USC Learning Support team is looking for current MSW students with an excellent grasp of foundation-level content to lead group discussions that help 500-level MSW students understand difficult course material. 

The MSW student group leader position is paid and tutors determine their own schedules. We request that the group leader be available at least 6 hours per week, but which 6 hours are up to the leader! We provide 6 hours of paid training plus time to shadow experienced group leaders and writing coaches.  

Discussion leaders facilitate group discussions and also work collaboratively with the content team to create resources for MSW students.  We have an extremely supportive group and questions and contributions are greatly encouraged!
